Sightseeing.lu plays a significant role for tourism in Luxembourg. We have been offering tours, namely City Tour and City Train Tours for nearly 20 years! However, we now have much more to offer than those classic sightseeing tours. We extended our product range with a focus on tours with audio guide, bike tours, day tours and walking tours. This way you can choose whether you want to use your smartphone as guide, or if you prefer a live guide to show you around. Make sure to check our website frequently as we are constantly adding new activities.

About App

First, we want to clarify a few things to avoid confusion among you guys. For those of you who know us already from the past:

1)  Luxembourg City Bus Tour ,

2) City Train in the old town.

You can book your tickets for those tours online as usual, without the need to download our new app. You will then receive your tickets via e-mail. However, for our new activities, such as the Walking or e-Bike tours, you will need the app to validate your ticket and to access the contents of the purchased activity.

Let’s take an example: If you buy one of our self-guided bike tours, you will be sent a booking confirmation via email which contains a unique QR code. What you need to do next, is download the sightseeing.lu app in the App Store or Google Play Store, depending on whether your phone uses iOS or Android. When you open the app, scan the QR code from your booking confirmation and the content of the bike tour will appear on your phone screen. You will now have access to the route, including a GPS-localized map, audio to listen to with your headphones and texts explaining the points of interest that you will discover during the tour. Now you might ask yourself the question “how do I know whether I bought an activity which requires the app” – well, the answer to that is very simple. Each so-called “in-app product” will be marked as such. Each product page on the website sightseeing.lu will contain information as to the type of product you’re dealing with. In case you are in doubt, don’t hesitate to contact us. We’re always happy to help!

In the section “Why/when do I need to download the APP sightseeing.lu?” we mentioned a QR code that you receive by email after having booked a tour or activity. In addition to the QR code, the ticket also contains login credentials. Why? Well, in case you booked the tour/activity with your phone, meaning that you’ve got your ticket on your phone as well, it will be impossible to scan the QR code with your phone. In this case, you can copy and paste the login credentials written on your ticket to the dedicated fields inside the app and you’ll get access to the contents.

When you download our app sightseeing.lu in the App Store or Google Play Store, you will be asked to choose between the full and the light version. Please note that both versions don’t require any payment. The download is for free. The only difference is that, while you can use the “light” version ONLY when you are online (assuming that you are connected to the internet), the “full” version allows you to use the content of the app even when you are offline. As soon as you’ve downloaded your bought activity inside the app, the “full” version will allow you to access audio, images, and text even when you’re offline.

About the App

We kindly ask you to visit the website of the Luxembourgish government to inform yourself about the current restrictions before planning your trip to Luxembourg. You can find all the information regarding this topic via the following link:
