Full Description
Visitors have now the opportunity to discover, without guide, the new mine “Johanna” and its vats slate extraction chambers. During a 90-minute underground visit at a constant temperature of 9°C, the mine will take you to a depth of -42m (+-370 steps in total). Modern lighting and audiovisual projections will give you an understanding of the local slate industry as it unfolded at the beginning of the 20th century, as well as an impression of the trade and life of slate workers back in the days.
For the security and comfort of the visitors, sturdy shoes and a jacket are mandatory. Out of safety reasons, children must be min. 4 years to access the underground mine!

Les visiteurs ont dès à présent la possibilité de découvrir, en complète autonomie (sans guide), les immenses chambres d’extraction d’ardoise de la mine souterraine « Johanna ». Au cours d’une visite de max. 90 minutes à une température de 9 degrés, le nouveau parcours souterrain vous emmènera à -42 m sous terre, aller-retour, avec 370 marches à arpenter. Une illumination moderne et des projections audiovisuelles vous offriront un aperçu de l’industrie ardoisière des années 1900, ainsi que du métier et de la vie des ardoisiers d’antan.
Pour votre sécurité et votre confort, des chaussures fermées ainsi qu’une veste sont indispensables pour la visite du souterrain ! Par mesures de sécurité, les enfants doivent impérativement avoir min. 4 ans pour accéder au parcours souterrain !
