Immerse yourself in the history of the former Source Bel-Val and discover the site at the time of Luxembourg’s steel industry in the 1970s. You will encounter people of that time and how they lived and worked. So get ready, get on the bus and put on your VR glasses to experience a great moment.

A journey through time that combines modernity, spring water and technology!
Follow the footsteps of your ancestors who worked for many years in the iron and steel industry, allowing us today to have an industrial type of decoration as well as in our everyday vehicles.
This experience brings together the past and the present and the handiwork and technology at our fingertips. You won’t need your pickaxe and helmet to get to the Bel-Val water source, but you will climb aboard the bus and put on your VR goggles to immerse yourself in its era of industrialization up to the 1970s. You will be totally immersed in the beginning of the 20th century (in 1908) where the history of the old Bel-Val water source will be told to you. It was considered a “medicinal water” for a long time and had fallen into oblivion as it was known as “the most pleasant of medicinal table waters”. For this reason, it was awarded numerous international prizes. Pierchen, your virtual coachman, will be happy to tell you more stories ;-)

The tour starts near the Hall de la Massenoire at the bus stop. The vehicle will then take you to the Lycée Bel-Val car park, the starting point of the tour to the old spring at Belval. After a jump in time, passing by the Boulevard de la Recherche, the Boulevard des Lumières and the Porte de France, the tour will end at the Terrasse des Hauts-fourneaux opposite the Rockhal.
About the project :
The city of Belval is the setting for a new form of “time travel” using virtual reality (VR). Supported by the Directorate-General for Tourism, this time travel allows visitors to go back in time and trace the history of the old Bel-Val water source and the history of industrialisation.

Partez sur les traces de vos ancêtres qui ont travaillé de nombreuses années dans la sidérurgie nous permettant aujourd’hui tant d’avoir une décoration de type industrielle que dans nos véhicules de tous les jours. Le fer est bel et bien présent partout.
Cette expérience confronte le passé et le présent ainsi que le travail manuel et la technologie que nous avons au bout des doigts. Vous n’aurez pas besoin de votre pioche et casque pour vous rendre à la source d’eau Bel-Val mais de monter à bord de notre bus et d’enfiler vos lunettes VR pour vous plonger dans son ère d’industrialisation allant jusqu’à dans les années 1970.
Vous serez totalement immergé au début du 20ème siècle (en 1908) où l’histoire de l’ancienne source d’eau de Bel-Val vous sera racontée. Cette dernière longtemps considérée comme “eau curative” et oubliée, était connue comme étant “la plus agréable de toutes les eaux de table médicinales”. C’est pourquoi, elle a reçu de nombreux prix internationaux.
Pierchen, votre cocher virtuel, se fera un plaisir de vous raconter bien d’autres histoires ;-)

Le départ se fait à l’arrêt de bus à côté de la Massenoire. Le véhicule vous emmènera ensuite jusqu’au parking du Lycée Bel-Val, point de départ du circuit vers l’ancienne source à Belval. Après un saut dans le temps, le circuit se terminera à la Terrasse des Hauts-fourneaux en face de la Rockhal.

Belval sera le cadre d’une nouvelle forme de “voyage dans le temps” utilisant la réalité virtuelle (VR). Soutenu par la Direction générale du tourisme, ce voyage permet aux visiteurs de remonter dans le temps et de retracer l’histoire de l’ancienne source d’eau Bel-Val et l’histoire de l’industrialisation.

Begeben Sie sich auf die Spuren Ihrer Vorfahren, die viele Jahre in der Stahlindustrie gearbeitet haben, sodass wir heute sowohl eine Dekoration im Stil der Industrie als auch in unseren alltäglichen Fahrzeugen haben. Eisen ist überall präsent.
Diese Erfahrung konfrontiert die Vergangenheit mit der Gegenwart, die Handarbeit mit der Technologie, die wir in unseren Fingerspitzen haben. Sie brauchen keine Spitzhacke und keinen Helm, um zur Bel-Val-Wasserquelle zu gelangen, sondern steigen Sie einfach in unseren Bus und setzen Ihre VR-Brille auf, um in die Zeit der Industrialisierung bis in die 1970er Jahre einzutauchen.
Sie werden in den Anfang des 20. Jahrhunderts (1908) eintauchen, wo Ihnen die Geschichte der alten Bel-Val-Wasserquelle erzählt wird. Diese galt eine lange Zeit als “Heilwasser” und war in Vergessenheit geraten, da sie als “das angenehmste aller medizinischen Tafelwässer” bekannt war. Aus diesem Grund wurde es mit zahlreichen internationalen Preisen ausgezeichnet.

Der Start erfolgt neben der Massenoire auf die Avenue du Rock’n’Roll. Das Fahrzeug bringt Sie dann zum Parkplatz des Lycée Bel-Val, dem Ausgangspunkt des Rundgangs zur alten Quelle in Belval. Nach einem Zeitsprung endet die Rundfahrt an der an der Hochofenterrasse gegenüber der Rockhal.

Unterstützt von der Generaldirektion für Tourismus, diese Zeitreise ermöglicht den Besuchern in die Vergangenheit zu reisen und die Geschichte der alten Wasserquelle Belval und der Industrialisierung nachzuvollziehen.
