In Luxembourg City, you will go on a gastronomic museum tour that starts at the “Villa Vauban”. This was built at the end of the 19th century on the foundation walls of the former Fort Vauban and today serves as an art museum. You will be served a coffee and a croissant of the Luxembourgish traditional pâtissier “Oberweis”, followed by a short-guided tour of the museum.


Continue to the “Musée Dräi Eechelen” in the renovated building of the Fort Thüngen built in 1732-33. Behind the fortification walls the visitor discovers over 600 permanently shown objects and original documents. On the first floor the museum presents a special exhibition. Short-guided tour of the museum. The last stop of your gastronomic museum tour is the Contemporary Art Museum of Luxembourg “Mudam” right next door. The “Mudam” is attentive to all artistic disciplines like painting, sculpture, or video art.


Lunch: at the light-flooded café of the museum that serves a delicate cuisine of regional products.


Afternoon: visit of the Minett Parc Fond-de-Gras in the south of Luxembourg. It used to be one of the most important mining centers in Luxembourg. The extraction of iron ore however ended in 1955. During the visit you’ll learn more about the life of the miners and working in a mine.


Highlight: you will be taken by the “Minièresbunn”, an old narrow-gauge mine railway that was used for the transport of the “buggys” loaded with iron ore, deep into the tunnel where a walking tour awaits you (only bookable on Sundays and public holidays).
